1988

Beginning of the textile material creation era. Over the next 20 years, under the leadership of Vegetal Alternatives’ founder, many technological advancements have were generated which have benefited all technical textile sectors. His innovations helped make the Canadian Defense a model in protective clothing.

2010

The year in which the shift to natural fibers took place, first by converting hemp and linen into usable textiles materials.

2012

Beginning of work on the milkweed insulation.

2014

Creation of the company Vegetal Alternatives which brings together the activities of textile science in harmony with nature. The development of milkweed insulation is progressing.

2016

First milkweed insulated garment contract for the Canadian Coast Guard.

2018

Start of work and development on VEGETECH^®

2022

PCT filing: PLANT-BASED LEATHER SUBSTITUTE MATERIAL

2023

2023 First worldwide introduction of VEGETECH^® at ITMA in Milan, Italy.

2024

VEGETECH^® available to the entire industry.
